Certain manuals, such as the one for the RA117 , refer to an "output meter". IE the Overall Gain Test (CW) section for the RA117 states :- " Set the controls of the output meter for 600 ohms impedance and a range of 6mw............."
The TF893A can be used for this job.
To the left is a view of the front panel and to the right the input terminals on the top of the unit.
The unit is very easy to use. The audio input is connected to the terminals on the top of the meter and the required settings are made to the switches on the front panel. On the right is the "Impedance selector" which has two ranges 2.5 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 , 8 , plus 6.25 , 7.5 , 10 , 12.5 , 15 , 20. To the left is the " Impedance Range Multiplier" with times 1 , 10 , 100 , 1000 in two ranges to match the selections on the "Impedance selector". In the middle is the "Power Range Selector" with positions for "Off" , 0w , 1w , 100mw , 10mw , and 1mw. The panel meter reads 0-1 and 0-10 in milliwatts and 0-10 in db.
This is not an item you a likely to use very much but they can be obtained quite cheaply and , I suppose, can come in handy. I have a shack full of " Come in Handy's"...!!!!
